Hello, Iām Kari.
I'm a graphic designer, visual communicator, and lifelong problem solver. My background is rooted in graphic design, with a BFA in Graphic Design and experience teaching typography and advertising at the university level. Over the past 15+ years, my work expanded beyond traditional design into retail marketing, creative direction, presentation design, and global brand communication.
A lot of my work has centered on a simple challenge: how do you take a lot of information and make it clear, useful, and engaging for the person on the other end?
I enjoy finding the structure within complex information, understanding the audience, and figuring out how design can make the message easier to understand. Sometimes that means building a presentation, sometimes a visual system, sometimes a campaign or physical experience. The format changes, but the goal is the same: make the information work.
Today, I'm focused on graphic design, presentation and information design, visual systems, and thoughtful brand application. I'm particularly interested in projects where good design can bring clarity, structure, and personality to an idea.
I'm currently available for select freelance and part-time opportunities.
Beyond the Brief
Outside of design work, I'm usually drawing, taking photographs, making something with my hands, or finding a trail somewhere outside. I draw a lot of inspiration from natural forms, texture, color, and the small details that are easy to miss when you're moving too quickly.
I like having creative practices that aren't always attached to a client or an objective. They keep me curious, observant, and willing to experiment.
